Hope is not a strategy. The future is yours to create.

For many, the anticipation of the New Year brings with it a strong desire to predict what will happen in the coming months. From the most thought-provoking futurists to the just-for-fun “future-predicting” quizzes spattered all over social media, people can’t seem to get enough.

Hope for dreams fulfilled and missions accomplished fill our thoughts when the calendar turns to January and the year advances once again. But, as we are known to say at Catapult, hope is not a strategy.

As Management Consultants and Executive Coaches, we have a front row seat as the future is being created in the hearts and minds of our clients and then brought to life through their action plans. We spend the year working with teams and individuals who are making big plans and chasing big goals. It is, all at once, exciting, breathtaking and humbling.

We are fortunate to work with some of the most courageous teams and leaders around who, in spite of great odds, persist in the direction of their goal for reasons that sometimes only they understand. As one of our clients so appropriately stated:
