The Challenge:

Prior to the launch of The WNY Impact Investment Fund, board members reached out to Catapult for assistance with the search for their inaugural CEO. This double bottom-line investment fund, which had not yet launched, was the first of its kind in Western New York.

The Solution:

The Catapult team conducted a national search to identify candidates. We were looking for a unique combination of experiences that would enable the candidate to lead the identification of socially-impactful organizations and businesses located in the Buffalo/Niagara region, and the implementation of a challenging business model that would both strengthen the investee organizations as well provide the Fund an appropriate financial return on investment.

The Outcome:

Thomas P. Quinn was selected by the board to be its CEO and the Fund launched in August 2017. They have since made several investments and established themselves as a leader in the resurgence of our community.
